Iran Used ChatGPT to Plant Fake Articles in US Publications
An Iranian influence operation leveraged ChatGPT to generate disinformation articles that were successfully planted inside legitimate U.S. news publications, according to an OpenAI disclosure. The campaign demonstrates how state-sponsored actors are operationalising large language models to scale credible-looking propaganda at reduced cost and effort.
