NVIDIA Launches OSAA and SAFE Open AI Security Framework

FIRST LOOK ATLAS OWASP MEDIUM Moderate risk · Monitor closely ▲ 5.5 TechCrunch AI

NVIDIA has spearheaded the Open Secure AI Alliance (OSAA), a 120-company industry group that has rapidly produced the Shared AI Findings Exchange (SAFE), a framework covering confidential AI incident reporting, affected-party alerting, and blame-free post-incident analysis, alongside an open-source tool catalogue including Nvidia's Garak LLM vulnerability scanner. For defenders, the emergence of a shared incident-reporting standard introduces new risks around coordinated disclosure timing windows that adversaries can exploit before patches propagate. The consolidation of open-source AI security tooling under a single catalogued repository also creates a high-value supply chain target that nation-state and cybercriminal actors could poison or compromise to undermine defences across all member organisations simultaneously.
