Anthropic Claude Launches Automated Attack Surface Reduction for Code
Anthropic has released research and tooling enabling Claude to perform automated attack surface analysis and reduction across large codebases, identifying reachability issues, dangerous configuration interactions, and pre-authentication exposure across 25 open-source projects. This closes a long-standing defender gap: the inability to systematically map and shrink exploitable code paths at scale without requiring individual vulnerability discovery. Residual maturity questions remain around integration into CI/CD pipelines, false-positive rates, and whether the approach generalises effectively to proprietary and polyglot enterprise codebases.
