Google has released Gemini 4 Carbon, a frontier AI model with significant improvements in vulnerability discovery, secure code generation, and agentic tasks, currently available to select cybersecurity defence partners through its Fairwind Program. The model closes a meaningful gap for defenders by bringing frontier-grade bug-finding and exploit-path reasoning into the hands of security teams, enabling more scalable and automated vulnerability triage at a level benchmarks suggest is ahead of competing models. Residual gaps remain around limited access maturity — availability is still restricted to a narrow partner group — and the operational integration work required before these capabilities translate into production-ready defensive workflows.
